Interior Modelling and Object Metamorphosis with Parametric Solids
نویسنده
چکیده
Mathematical concepts of multivariate parametric solids, their description by a B-spline basis functions are discussed. Parametric solids can model both the shape and unisotropic interior. Three types of parametric solids i.e. Coons body 0, 1 and 2 are used to demonstrate the interior modelling often used as initial or boundary conditions in numerical simulation. Multiple parametric solids elements can be joined together to form a complicated shape. Continuity between elements can be defined similarly as in B-spline modelling. Proposedmethodology and modelling technique is applied to metamorphosis of two given 3-D shapes.

متن کاملParametric patches and volumes in function representation of geometric solids
We take an approach to specify and control implicitly dened n-dimensional free-form solid primitives using parametric functions of n variables. Outside of the domain, the parametric function value increases or decreases rapidly that is not suitable to design geometric objects. In this paper, we introduce a functional clipping operation which allows a free-form primitive to be treated as traditi...
متن کاملConstructive Hypervolume Modeling Using Extended Space Mappings
In this paper, we propose a framework for modeling and deforming heterogeneous volumetric objects defined as point sets with attributes. We propose to use constructive hypervolume objects, where the function representation (FRep) is used as the basic model for both object geometry and attributes represented independently using realvalued scalar functions of point coordinates. While FRep directl...
متن کاملMetamorphosis of Planar Parametric Curves Via Curvature Interpolation
This work considers the problem of metamorphosis interpolation between two freeform planar curves. Given two planar parametric curves, the curvature signature of the two curves is linearly blended, yielding a gradual change that is not only smooth but also employs intrinsic curvature shape properties, and hence is highly appealing. In order to be able to employ this curvature blending, we prese...
متن کاملModelling Elasticity in Solids Using Active Cubes - Application to Simulated Operations
This paper describes an approach to elastic modelling of human tissue based on the use of 3D solid active models active cubes [2] and a shape description based on the metric tensor in a solid. Active cubes are used because they provide a natural parameterization of the surface and the interior of the given object when deformed to match the object's shape. Using the metric tensor to store the sh...
